The Internet offers a unique platform for billions of people to connect globally. The majority of the time we can trust the people we interact with, and even pay for services that connect us with them. Unfortunately, as in every other realm of life – we can’t trust everyone.
Recently, SeekingArrangement has been made aware of a phishing scam occurring on the site. The scam is primarily targeted in China and neighboring countries. Robot-esque accounts are registering profiles as Sugar Baby females on SeekingArrangement.com, initiating conversations with members, and then requesting to move the conversation to GaGaMatch.com.
Once the two parties have reconnected on GaGaMatch.com, the female user will ask the generous user to gift her with some variation of a “real” gift. The generous user will then be notified of completed gift delivery in two to three days. The romantic pen pal will then message a thank you note for the gift. Sounds pretty cool, right? Theoretically yes, if the gift in question were to be sent to an actual person.
Unfortunately, GaGaMatch.com has employed an abundance of typing pro’s to catfish generous men. The photo’s on GaGaMatch are typically stolen from private archives of modeling agencies. Moreover, the standard language of these “beauties” is a variation of Chinese that only the site can decipher – reason being that generous members must pay to have the message translated. If the message is translated through Google, or any other language service, it is not recognized.
SeekingArrangement does not endorse or encourage members to use GaGaMatch in ANY way. The support team at SeekingArrangement is taking additional precautions to find these bots and ban them from messaging our members.
Don’t let this hiccup deter you from pursuing Sugar relationships facilitated through SeekingArrangement. As with any site, use precaution when communicating, or sending money through the interweb.
